Sharon and Brian's wedding in the Westwood House Hotel Galway

14th September 2016
Things panned out a lot better than I thought they would for Sharon and Brian's wedding!
It was a damp and windy morning when I arrived in Moylough on wedding morning, and it looked like a day that would consist of indoor photography....but thanks to the confidence of the groom Brian later in the day, we were lucky enough to avail of the nature that's on display in Salthill.
I'm grateful to the pleasant and cheerful bridesmaids Gráinne, Noreena and Katie (Sligo Rose in the Rose of Tralee) who were extremely helpful and welcoming along with Sharon's parents Gerry and Patricia.
The excellent Natalie O'Brien was looking after everyone's hair on wedding day.....and I love crossing paths with her....she's a team player and works well with everyone.
Sharon is the type of bride I love working with....approachable, friendly and you feel you could say anything to her. She had a lot of preparation done for her wedding was in the frame of mind to enjoy and absorb as much of it as she possible could!
The Moylough community turned out in force with bonfires lighting Sharon's path to the church, and again afterwards on her route to Galway....lovely touch by locals and Sharon was in the hands of the excellent Brian Jarvis from Corporate Wedding Cars who was responsible for getting her from A to B safely.....Brian's also a team player...nice guy!
The groom Brian and his team consisting of Desmon, Joe and Cathal were also in good form and taking some shelter from the showers in the church when we arrived. Although I was apprehensive about our chances of getting images outside, my mind was immediately put at ease when I saw the effort that was put into the appearance of the church interior....looked awesome and I knew we would be guaranteed good images if the weather stayed as miserable as it was. The church's presentation was down to the excellent work of Robert Treston from Aisle Love You....I think the photos show how excellent his presentation skills are.
We didn't delay too long taking photos with the groomsmen as the bridesmaids arrived pretty punctually ensuring there was no long delays.
As I mentioned, visually the church looked amazing, but equally the music that was provided by the excellent Seán Costello ensured that everything about the ceremony was top drawer material.
After the ceremony, we availed of the church decor for some photos before chancing our luck in Galway for the remainder of the images. Brian the groom was optimistic of getting some dry weather in Salthill ( fair play to him for his positive thinking as it was pretty wet most of the day) and I was delighted that we got some shots in a windy but dry Salthill.....truly happy with Brian and his confidence!!
The Westwood Hotel was our final port of call....a lovely spot for a wedding where John and Joanna know how to look after the newly weds!
Thank you Sharon and Brian for trusting in me with your wedding photography....please God we'll cross paths again and in the mean time, mind yourselves!
Some images from the day are below and a photo slideshow can be viewed at the bottom of the page.
