Wedding Salthill Hotel Galway

30th June 2013

Caroline and Niall were recently married in Moylough Co Galway followed by a reception in the Salthill Hotel Galway.
Caroline was receiving the finishing touches to hair and make up at "Curly Bob's" in Tuam when I arrived on the morning of her wedding. Caroline was accompanied there by her bridesmaids Carmel, Teresa, Christina and Louise.....and flowergirl Kyry also made an appearance! All were in good spirits and looking forward to what the day had in store for them.

Shortly after the visit to Curly Bob's, we headed back to Caroline's home and captured the tail end of her preparations along with several of her family who were present to wish her well. The journey to Moylough followed where Niall and his merry men were in mischievous spirits and up for a bit of fun.

John Murphy of Avalon Video was the Videographer, and it's great working alongside someone as competent and jovial as John on wedding days.

The church in Moylough is possible one of the finest churches that I've worked in with the amount of beautiful natural light that fills it....given that it was an extreme showery day with high winds, the church gave us an opportunity to capture some images after the ceremony before heading off to the Claddagh in Galway and indeed Blackrock in Salthill at Caroline's special request.

When we arrived at the Long walk in Galway, we managed to run off some shots before a heavy shower came....we did get the opportunity to see Caroline and Niall "head butt" each other though (....I better state that this was an "accident" !!!) as well as getting some shots of the bridesmaids. While the showers came, we drove to "blackrock" in salthill where Caroline was adamant that she'd get up to the diving boards for a few shots.......a very brave woman given the very high winds that were present.

After Blackrock, we reached our destination at the Salthill Hotel, a fantastic wedding venue where Pauline and her staff know how to look after wedding couples and their guests.

Thanks Caroline and Niall for being such a great couple to work with and I look forward to bumping into you again in the coming weeks.
