Wedding Raheen Woods Hotel Athenry

16th February 2018
Niamh and Paddy's wedding was both an extremely enjoyable wedding for me to cover, and indeed a very memorable one!
I had covered some Niamh's friends weddings...most notably her chief bridesmaid Claire, and would have crossed paths with Niamh on a couple of occasions so it's fair so say we
definitely weren't strangers on wedding day!
A pleasure to meet Niamh's parents on wedding morning.....indeed I remember meeting her dad Seamus when playing football for Renmore GAA many years ago and he used to manage Mervue GAA....we had many a good battle! Indeed looking around Niamh's home on wedding morning, it's pretty evident that the GAA has played a major role in the O'Grady way of life!
Caoline Coyne Make Up was responsible for Niamh's make up while the wonderful Niamh from the Hair Fairy has her hair looking as super as she did on wedding morning. I enjoyed the chats that we had in the make up room along with bridesmaids Claire, Nicola and Catherine.

The trip to the church was quite a short one and I caught up with paddy and his groomsmen Jason, Martin & Cian. Dave Sneddon from All West Videos was doing some work with the lads when I arrived and we managed to run off some sneaky photos before the ceremony took place.
The music for the ceremony was superb.....some of Niamh's friends looking after same along with the accompaniment of Bridesmaid extraordinaire....Claire!
It was disappointing to see tat the rain had arrived when our ceremony was finished.....but one thing that was simply fantastic to see was the arrival of the Liam McCarthy Cup afterwards....plenty of guests and relations availing of it's appearance to grab some selfies....fair play to whomever arranged this, it created great excitement for everyone!
We decided to use the shelter of Galway Crystal for some photos after the ceremony....a most welcoming place to go if the weather is inclement on wedding days before our final destination being the Raheen Woods Hotel in Athenry.
Really enjoyed your company on wedding day Niamh and Paddy....as well as that of your family and friends. Your families are genuine and sincere as I've eluded to in previous blog posts, and it truly was a gift to me to witness your wonderful life event at close quarters.
Until we cross paths again, I wish you both the very best in what life has to offer!

Some photos from the day are below and a photo slideshow can be viewed at the bottom of the page.
