Wedding Mullingar Park Hotel

16th October 2015
I'd met Ciara and Denis on a couple of occasions prior to their big day....lovely couple and very enjoyable chin wags anytime we met.
About a week prior to the wedding, I visited Mullingar (a place that I wasn't too familiar with) and did a reconnaissance mission in Belvedere gardens which was to be our location for bridal portraits. I don't work outside of Galway/Mayo too much, but like to be familiar with a place prior to the big day...helps you attack the day in a more confident manner!
Unfortunately, due to some tragic news on the morning of the wedding, a lot of Ciara and Denis' plans were thrown out the window...something very difficult for any couple to deal with, but they were absolutely terrific and threw themselves into their new situation with a lot of positivity.
This was also my first wedding with legendary Videographer Cathal Farrelly...a gentleman to work with, and I really enjoyed the chats that we had through out the day! After the ceremony, Cathal and I made our way to the Mullingar Park Hotel while the bridal party headed in the opposite direction......not ideal on a wedding day, but as mentioned earlier, they were dealt a tough deck of cards this particular wedding day.
Cathal and I mingled/worked/chatted with guests before the arrival of Ciara and Denis. I must admit to being like a man possessed when they arrived getting images captured. We did the family portraits and bridal shoot all on the grounds of the hotel....both done and dusted in less than half an hour....mad but fun!
After the meal and speeches, the superb Weightless Astronauts had the place rockin'...really good end to any wedding!
Ciara and Denis, your two good people! Although your plans were thrown asunder on your big day, you concentrated on making the most of things and I'll never forget your positive attitude. I enjoyed your company immensely and please God we'll be crossing paths at more weddings next the mean time, thanks for trusting me with your wedding photography and mind yourselves!!

Images from the day are below and a photo slideshow can be viewed at the bottom of the page.
