Wedding Lady Gregory Hotel Gort Co Galway

18th May 2015

A lot of familiar faces at this wedding which helped make it a very enjoyable day at work!
Deirdre and James were well organized prior to their wedding, booking their wedding photography almost two years prior to the day....and I thoroughly enjoyed any of our chats on the run up to it. James was a groomsman at his brother Colm's wedding which I also shot so it helped matters that we were all familiar with each other!
Deirdre is a lady and was in great spirits on the morning of the wedding.....a treat to meet Malvina Barret doing make up...always enjoy the chats and Malvina adds to the laid back atmosphere in any wedding house on wedding morning! Thanks so much to bridesmaids Maeve and Claire....nothing was a hassle for them, good people!
James had Brian and Colum as his main men at the church, Brian was excellent although Colum likes fiddling with cameras and finds it hard to concentrate when there are electrical goods around him!!!! He did a good job holding the microphone during the ceremony however!!
This was my first time woring in Loughrea Cathedral....such a majestic spot....would love to have a bit more time to shoot there after the ceremony.
Nicola McGuire was accompanied by Dave Mongan for the church music.....amazing stuff as always...I'd stand in the snow listening to their beautiful performances!
After the 2pm ceremony, we made the journey to Coole Park in Gort....really awesome bit of nature on display there and a haven for wedding photography. Thanks to the staff for leaving the gates open allowing us to stay a bit later for the photos!
After our visit to Coole Park, we made the short journey to the excellent Lady Gregory Hotel..lovely spot with one of the most decorated Ball Rooms that you'll come across in the West of it's decor!
Thank you Deirdre and James for being lovely people to be around...I really enjoyed your wedding day and thank you for trusting me with it. I wish you both the very best and hopefully we'll cross paths again in the near future!
