Wedding Hotel Ballina Co Mayo

16th April 2013

I had the pleasure of shooting Caroline and Eugene's wedding on a fine day in Ballina recently. For some reason, I do a lot of work in the Ballina area, but this was the first time I worked in Hotel Ballina and it is a terrific spot.
Caroline & Eugene were very lucky with the weather on their wedding day, some bright sunshine and temperatures weren't as low as they have been in the weeks since.

Caroline along with her bridesmaids Geraldine and Asleen were in great spirits during their preparations and it was pretty cool to witness how chilled out they were in Caroline's home that morning. Indeed when I got to the church, Eugene and his men John and Maurice were also in mighty form and open to a bit of fun.

We decided to take Bridal Portraits on the grounds of Beleek which lent itself to some great photo opportunities. I always like taking images where there's a bit of nature on display and it was an added bonus that we had the weather to do this in mid March.

As I mentioned, I'd never worked in Hotel Ballina previously and must admit that it's a fine hotel in every way. The staff were extremely helpful and if we were unfortunate to have poor weather on the day of the wedding, there is plenty of opportunities to get great shots inside.

I forget what this young man's name is, but I thought he was a true character, who was enjoying the spotlight. A short while later though, his dad Maurice had to help him get a power nap!

Best man Andy realizes it's only moments to the speeches and may be feeling a bit of pressure!

Thanks Caroline and Eugene for being a great relaxed couple to work with. I enjoyed working with you immensely and I wish you both the very best of luck for the future!
