Tara & Brian's wedding in the Claregalway Hotel

29th August 2014
Lovely to be doing a local wedding!!

Tara and Brian's wedding ceremony took place in St Mary's church Headford (where I live) before we headed off the excellent Claregalway Hotel for a reception.

Tara was brilliant on her wedding day.....everything was laid out and arranged for me when I arrived at her home in Hollymount and I couldn't believe how relaxed she was about everything on her wedding day. Massive awareness of everything (and time in particular) and I'm very grateful to her bridesmaids and family for the welcome I received while working there.

When I arrived at the church I was surprised to see the bridesmaids arriving at the same time as me....as local as this wedding was, there was obviously a shorter route from Hollymount to Headford than the route I had taken myself.

Fr Peter Gannon celebrated the funny and witty mass (also concelebrated by our local priest Fr Ray), always a pleasure to be in their company, everything is so relaxed. Indeed the ceremony was unique in many ways, not least of all it was the first time I'd seen a bride entertain guests by playing a tune on the box....and it was excellent, well done Tara!!

After the ceremony and Family portraits were taken, we headed off to the local Cargin Castle for some photos (and hydration!!). Such a lovely spot on Lough Corrib and luckily the rain didn't fall while we were there.

We made the short journey to the lively Claregalway Hotel and from all accounts the night was hectic with entertainment supplied by Seán Slattery and the Connections!

Congratulations Tara and Brian....I really enjoyed your day and I'm sure we'll be crossing paths in Headford again in the near future!
