Claregalway Wedding

15th June 2016
A lot of reason's why I was a happy man covering this wedding!
Paula and Ger are two of the most solid and genuine people that you'll meet....anyone that knows them isn't leaning anything new from that.
I covered Ger's beautiful sister Maria's wedding a couple of years ago....knowing his family from then helps matters immensely and I've a lot of positive memories from Maria and Seosamh's wedding too.
One of Paula's bridesmaids is Avril....I also covered her sister wedding two years ago....and again it's brilliant to walk into a brides home and feel relaxed as there are a few familiar faces. An added bonus to come across Natalie O'Brien on hair duty and Caroline Coyne on make well as the friendly welcome, you know that these seasoned professionals guarantee that things won;t run late on wedding day and from a photographers point of view, I can travel to the church on time to capture some images of the groom and his groomsmen before the ceremony starts.....all in all, a few reason why I was looking forward to the day!

Thanks to Maura and Gerry, Paula's parents for the welcome, and generous offering of food and tea on wedding morning, I had a job to do but none the less it felt like you were visiting and uncle or an aunts home such was the hospitality. Bridesmaids Laura, Avril and Stephanie were both welcoming and fun too and a great help to Paula helping her stay relaxed and enjoy the day.

The trip to the church was a short one and thanks to Ger and his groomsmen Brian, Ciaran and Darragh for being accommodating with regards to the photography before the ceremony. The music for the ceremony was equally as excellent as it was for Maria and Seosamh's wedding two years previously....strong traditional influence and lovely to listen to. As it was a showery day, we used the shelter of the church for some family portraits before using the Quad in NUIG for some bridal party images.....a very enjoyable half hour where both the entire party were in great form which helps me immensely for my job.

After the Quad, me made our final short journey to the excellent Salthill Hotel...always a great spot for a wedding and they know how to run a wedding reception!

Thank you Paula and Ger for being nothing short of super to be around....I thoroughly enjoyed your company as well as your wedding day and I'm grateful that you trusted me with your wedding photography....please God we'll cross paths again in the near future, and until then, mind yourselves!
