Wedding Armada Hotel, Spanish Point Co Clare

02nd June 2015

A really enjoyable day at work...surrounded by a lot of familiar faces as well as a bridal party that were simply good people!!

Edel's home was simply breathtaking...located on a riverbank with the most majestic of views. Inside, it was super to meet Caroline Coyne and Helga Kampff (two brilliant artists) as well as as Edel's beautiful bridesmaids Joanne, Roisín, Maureen and Sinéad as well as her parents Mary and Dennis. Edel was in mighty form and with no signs of any nerves she was simply enjoying the craic and the banter that was flying around. Fair play to all involved (large household with a lot of ladies to get ready) for having the family and bridal party ready very punctually!
Equally, James and his merry men Eugene, Seán, Barry and Darragh were in good spirits prior to the ceremony, and indeed all of the bridal party were nothing short of a treat to be with on the big day, thank you for that.
Although there were a lot of familiar faces at this wedding, I had never previously worked with Rory O'Donovan of O'Donovan Video Productions...a gentleman and a person who's company I enjoyed right through out the day. Great to work with someone who was always thinking about others and it's easy to understand why he's a videographer in demand!
After the ceremony in Tulla, we made our way to the sand dunes at the beach in Spanish Point. When I was travelling from Galway to East Clare on the morning of the wedding, it was a very cold, wet and windy day....thankfully when we arrived at Spanish Point, it was completely different...hardly any wind, no rain and temperatures had risen...lucky us, this makes matters so much easier on the bridal party. Edel and James were a lovely couple to work with and I daresay that even if we had gale force winds and horizontal rain, they wouldn't have batted an eye lid!
Our final stop was the majestic setting of the Armada Hotel, a wonderful place.

Thanks Edel and James' for trusting me with your wedding photography....I really enjoyed working with you and hopefully we'll cross paths soon again!

Video slideshow of the day is at the bottom of the page.

Always a treat bumping into Caroline Coyne Make Up at a wedding....she's a bubbly jovial lady, always in great form! Also super to bump into Helga Kampff from It'sFabulous.Net...ironically I had worked with Helga the previous day too in Cornamona Co Galway!

Dogs get a raw deal on weddings days....they're turfed outside to make way for the ladies!!

The beautiful Edel...beautiful inside and out!!!

Edel and her lovely mum Mary.

This was my second time working in the Armada Hotel in Spanish Point and we were very luck on both occasions...the weather really playing ball with us. The Hotel is set on the side of the beach with the most amazing panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean...very few hotels can boast a location such as the Armada. I'm also grateful to the staff for their excellent etiquette and assistance, a great place to work!

One of the added bonuses on working at Edel and James' wedding was bumping into the lads from Raindance! True Pros, always in great form and sounding as good as ever.
I noticed that the speeches were taking place when the band arrived. Some bands would just sit it out and wait for the speeches to finish and for the hotel staff to clear the dance floor before they'd start hauling in their equipment....Raindance however brought their equipment into the function room and waited for the speeches to finish, and as soon as they were they were setting up like men possessed so that the "downtime" between the speeches and music starting was kept to the absolute minimum, well done lads great stuff!!
