Wedding Achill Co Mayo

01st February 2016
Laura and James wedding took place in the majestic Island of Achill in North West Mayo!
Every nook and cranny of this beautiful Island throws up the most majestic of landscapes and I can totally understand why Landscape photographer sin particular spend so much time there.
Laura and James' wedding took place in between two rather story days....heavy rainfall and winds the previous night, and something similar the following day, but although it was showery on wedding day itself, thanks to the patience of Laura, James and the bridal party, we were in a position to try and capture what we could when we could!
Laura's home place in Dogort has the most amazing views of the sea and mountains right beside them......a place where one could spend the whole day just looking at the changing light and weather on their doorstep. I appreciate the help of Bridesmaid Sara on wedding morning, a treat to walk into a house and being made feel relaxed and welcome....thanks also to mum and dad Marion and Tony for that!
The wedding ceremony took place in Dookinella which is only a short spin from which we were returning for the reception which was in a purpose built Marquee on the grounds of the Stand Hotel.
After the beautiful ceremony, we spent a short while taking some photos en route back to the hotel....and I have to thank the happy couple for standing in a bog for this! We were lucky and got a lovely award winning photo from same....all thanks to the patience and cooperation of Laura and James.
The Strand Hotel was the venue for the reception, and a purpose built Marquee was set up on the grounds to facilitate the large number of guests. Hats off to Laura for the attention to detail with all the little bits there....amazing work!
We took the family portraits right beside the marquee (located right beside the beach), and you'll see the rainbow that was on display while we capturing them....again thank you to everyone involved for their patience...and the rainbow is real, not photoshopped!
Thank you Laura and James for not alone being accommodating with regards to your wedding photography, but also for being lovely happy people to be around. I hope your happy with what we captured and please God we'll cross paths in the future again...until them, mind yourselves!
