Wedding Galway Bay Hotel

07th July 2014

A super day at work.....the only way to sum up Mary and Peter's big day!

I thoroughly enjoy my job and this wedding was no exception, in fact it drilled home the very point that I'm a lucky man.
Arriving at Mary's home, it was a treat as always to bump into Malvina Barrett covering make up, and it was great to feel right at home thanks to the welcome from Mary's parents Bridie and Seán as well as bridesmaids Nora and Carolyn!
The wedding invitations were the most unique that I've photographed......Peter being a guard obviously drafted them up....they were like a police Summons and I can imagine a few people skipping a heart beat when they received same...... they were so convincing!
After the relaxed preparations in Mary's home, I made my way to the church where I bumped into the jovial Gary Loughlin on video as well as the main man Peter and his groomsmen Geoff and Derek.
Corofin is a lovely Parish and it's always great to see large amounts of fires lit for the bride for her journey to the church!
After the ceremony, we availed of the warmth of the church (and some shelter from the wind and rain) for family portraits before making our journey to the Galway Bay Hotel with a stop in Quay Street and the Spanish arch/Claddagh area for some photos. Having not shot any wedding images in Quay St previously, it was a good buzz to be there and witness all the good will that's extended to married couples from the public on their wedding day!
The final journey was then made to Galway Bay Hotel where once again Barbara and John looked after everyone Royally......always love working there, one of the best wedding hotels you'll come across!
Mary and Peter....thanks for being the great people that you were and sharing your wedding day in such an open manner!!
I look forward to our paths crossing in the future!

Some images from the day are below and a video slideshow can be viewed at the bottom of the page.
