Loughrea Hotel & Spa Wedding Co Galway

20th December 2013

Collete and Keith are my kinda couple......fun, into their sports and very much focused on their families aswell!
Collette's preparations took place in her home between Caltra and Ahascragh, and it's very evident how much Collette is into her sport when I arrived there....trophies and victorious winning team photos on display everywhere. Collette was assisted by her sister Caroline (bridesmaid), and her mum Nancy was also to hand to assist me with photography ideas in the home.

The journey to the church wasn't far, and indeed lucky for some guests, there was a watering hole located less than 100 yards from it, a good place for many guests to use the facilities and have a refreshment while observing the arrival of the beautiful Collette (wink wink Mary!)!
Keith was with his best man Alfie doing the meet and greet outside the church, I borrowed them both for a handful of photos....two big guys, my step ladder would prove useful later!

One of my favorite shots from 2013.....as big and all as Keith is, he hwas great awareness as to what's about to take place and his emotions for a few months are visible.

The priest new Keith very well and gave him a ribbing for being a big man getting emotional and made light of this situation and indeed the whole ceremony!

After the ceremony and Family Portraits, we headed to the lake in Loughrea, I always advise couples to bring a bottle of beer and some refreshments with them while we're taking photos, and this is something this was a duty that Alfie carried out to perfection!

After our Bridal Portrait session, we headed back to the Loughrea Hotel and Spa, and in character woth the two sporting people that were now newlyweds, the All Ireland Hurling final replay was taking place and all tv's in the place were being showing coverage.....great match it was too and held the attention of all Collette and Keith's guests!

I really enjoyed the speeches at this wedding. Collette's dad Albie spoke words of wisdom regarding the youngest flying the nest and indeed how lucky they were as a family to witness it....beautiful words and something I often think about regarding my own family.
Alfie ensured that matters were kept light hearted, although he proceeded to let out the choke and take the hand crake off when it came to telling a few stories about Keith!

Thanks Collette and Keith (& Patrick) for letting me play a role on your wedding day. Thoroughly enjoyed myself and I look forward to crossing paths again in the future!

Feel free to watch the video slideshow below of Collette and Keith's big day!
