Knockranny House Hotel Wedding Westport Mayo

04th October 2014

Niamh and Gerry had a cracking wedding on a glorious day in Tourmakeady Co Mayo.
I kinda got the vibe that it was going to be such a day when I met with them prior to the wedding.....laid back but witty and trusting in me to do my job without too much direction.
Niamh's home is in a majestic setting overlooking the lake in Tourmakeady.... a class bit of nature on her doorstep. I'm grateful to Niamh's parents Maura and Tom fro their welcome on wedding morning and fair play to the bridesmaids Aine, Orla, Tracey and Maeve for being accommodating with the photography and being the jovial people they were all day!
It was also great to bump into the equally friendly and jovial Paul McDermott of Vivid Eye VideoPaul McDermott...a good guy who also helps everyone relax into their roles!
The trip to the church was a short one and this was also my first occasion to bump into Colin Fahy who was providing church music....excellent stuff!! Beautiful selection of songs...including some that I haven't heard at a wedding before and very impressed with his performance!
After the ceremony, we availed of the lovely Lough Mask as a backdrop for some Bridal Portraits....and fair play to Niamh for her willingness to get as close as she could to the water....not too many brides would have shown the same gutso as she did!!
After our little picnic and shoot, we headed back to the Knockranny House first time working there and was blown away by the help and assistance shown by the staff, a great place and I look forward to working back there again!
Thanks a million to Niamh and Gerry for coming outside after the meal to grab a photo with the sun setting and Croagh Patrick in the background.
It was super to bump into Nicola McGuire and the Weightless Cosmonauts later that night....I normally meet Nicola at ceremonies...a very busy girl having won Weddings Online Church singer of the year, but tonight she was performing with her band The Weightless Cosmonauts....a class act and all you have to so is look at the dance floor in the images to see all of the guests were thinking the same was electric!

Thanks Niamh and Gerry for trusting me with your wedding photography....your images are enroute across the Atlantic and thanks for being nothing short of super people to work with!

Images from the day are below and a photo slideshow can be viewed at the bottom of the page.

The beautiful Abbeygale....almost upstaged Niamh!!

Gerry was showing signs of nerves at the door....only with the extra horsepower supplied by little Harry did the groomsmen get him over the line!

The beautiful ladies!!

I appreciate Niamh and Gerry's efforts in coming outside after the meal to grab this image....I think it was worth their efforts, lovely bit of nauture with a beautiful sunset.
