Claregalway Hotel Wedding

18th September 2013

Dympna and Seamus were recently married in Claran Church Headford followed by a reception in the Claregalway Hotel Co Galway.
Although the summer of 2013 will be remembered fondly for some awesome weather that we weren't accustomed to, Dympna and Séamus' wedding day had the familiar tradition of experiencing all the seasons within one hour!
Nevertheless, it was a day that was most enjoyable, and it was a pleasure to be around Dympna, a lady who had prepared for her big day exceptionally well....and was all out to enjoy same.
Being in Dympna's home on the morning of the wedding was pretty cool to say the least. It's great witnessing the camaraderie among families on big days such as this, and with a lot of Dympna's relations and friends calling to her home on the morning of the wedding, there was abundance of same. The vibrant colors of bridesmaids Nóirín and Teresa's dresses were beautiful for adding colors to images and thanks to both girls for being a pleasure to work with.
I met up with Séamus and his groomsmen Brian and Enda at the church....heavy showers meant nobody dwelling outside and fair play to Dympna for her punctuality.
Claran church was graced by the sounds of Sinéad Munnelly on vocals and ably assisted by Aine Kelly on strings and the brilliant Seán DeBurca on piano. I've come across the trio quite a bit this summer and their performances are excellent. Seán filled in some time at the end of the ceremony with Elton John's "A song for guy"....thought it was a brilliant touch!
As the rain was bouncing off the ground outside, we took the family portraits and some bridal shots in the shelter of the church before making the short spin to Cargin Castle to try and avail of the beautiful scenery there. We waited for almost 20 minutes for a shower to stop before getting about 5 minutes of sunshine (amid high winds) to grab what we could. Fair play to everyone that was present as spirits were high despite the horrid weather.
Claregalway Hotel beckoned after Cargin Castle, and to say that Dympna has a story to tell about her journey there would be an understatement!!! I'll let her fill ye in!
Thanks so much lads for being super people to be around on your wedding day.....I love what I do, and more so when the people I'm working for just freewheel through the day in great spirits as ye both did!!

Feel free to watch a video slideshow of the wedding at the bottom of the page.
