Ardilaun House Hotel Galway wedding

07th July 2016
Teresa and Kenneth were married amidst the stifling hot weather that we received in early June....and my God didn't Galway and Salthill look well for it!
Teresa's home has nothing short of majestic views of Galway City...living in Tonabrocky....been a while since I've been out that side of Galway but on the day that was in it, it was majestic. Looking out over Galway Bay in particular, the Bay looked like a lake, there wasn't a puff of wind about and you could hear some animal livestock nearby....everything about is was shear class...lucky you Teresa!
To say Teresa was at peace with matters on wedding day would be an understatement...she was exceptionally warm and welcoming on wedding morning and almost horizontal shoe was so chilled. Being in the company of someone so relaxed as this is most helpful and I'm grateful to her and her bridesmaid Nicola for being top drawer material!
Kenneth and his groomsman Patrick waiting patiently when I arrived at the church for some photos but we didn't have too long before the punctual Teresa arrived and kicked off proceedings.
A lot of familiar faces with regards to wedding suppliers for this one....firstly John Murphy of Avalon Video looking after Video requirements....Nicola McGuire accompanied by the excellent Dave Mongan looking after the church music....always love bumping into the two of them....class musicians where their personalities match their talents, and finally the super Clare Kilcarr of I Do Candle Lighting who had the church looking stunning!
After the ceremony, Teresa and Kenneth had arranged for an Ice Cream Van to be parked outside the church....and given the weather that we were experiencing, it was the perfect refreshment for all their guests ( and a few of their suppliers!!)!
We availed of the gardens in the Pres Secondary school for some family portraits before taking the spin out to the gardens in Salthill for some photos. When we were finished in the Memorial Gardens, we decided to jump across the road to the Prom for a couple of snapshots. The beach and indeed the Promenade was as full as I've ever experienced, and touching back on something i recently wrote about on Facebook, you'd be a proud Galwegian when you listened to the amount of goodwill that's extended to wedding couples form locals on their big day.....Salthill was no different. Teresa and Kenneth experienced rounds of applause, parents bringing their kids up to congratulate them as well as plenty of "good luck" calls from several passers by and I was delighted that this lovely couple were in a position to receive same on their big day.
Our final stop on the big day was the Ardilaun House Hotel in Taylors Hill....a beautiful spot!
This was the first wedding I've covered there where the welcome for the bride and groom actually took place in the rear gardens with the band playing live outside too.....this really lent itself to a party atmosphere and everyone being in good spirits by having Canapes and drinks outside...something we don't get to do all that often.
Thank you Teresa and Kenneth for being who you are.....lovely genuine people to be around on a wedding day and I'm grateful to you both for trusting in me for your wedding photography.
Chat to you both in the near future and in the mean time, mind yourselves!!
Some photos of the day are below and a video slideshow can be viewed at the bottom of the page.
