Ardilaun House Hotel Galway Wedding

04th February 2014

An extremely enjoyable day where a lot of things went right for us is possibly the best way to describe Anita and Ray's wedding in late November.
This time of the year can be tricky with regards to the weather and the opportunities for getting some nice outdoor wedding photos......however it all came right for us and thanks to the weather Gods for that!
Anita and Ray's wedding ceremony took place in Maree church Oranmore, my first time working there and a beautiful place. Anita was getting prepared less than 5 minutes from the church and fair play to her parents John & Geraldine as well as bridesmaids Janice, Clodagh, Ciara and Edwina for making it a very friendly and jovial home to call to!
I don't think I've worked with a groom who had as much awareness on his wedding day as drawer material! Always aware of the weather/time and what we were going to do next, whilst at the same time being able to enjoy and experience the day....fair play young man! His groomsmen Brendan, Declan, Maurice and Fergul were equally enthusiastic as the bridesmaids with regards to enjoying themselves and it's a pleasure to be around positive people like that on wedding days!
After the beautiful ceremony in Maree, we made the short journey to the woods in Renvyle and availed of some of the beautiful surroundings as well as the winter sunshine to grab some photos. Thanks to the happy couple for pacifying me and stopping on our exit from Renvyle and setting up some equipment to take a shot of the sun going down on Galway Bay behind them....appreciated your patience guys!
It's great getting newly weds back to their wedding reception and allowing them plenty of time to mingle with guests before being called in for their meal, and thankfully it worked out like that for Anita and Ray!
I was covering the music and it was a pleasure to hang around and wait for the excellent Weightless Astronauts later that night. Possibly the busiest wedding band on the circuit at present and it's very easy to see why.......well actually it was quite difficult to see them through the crowded dance floor. Great show guys!

Anita and Ray, thanks for being a great couple to be around and I wish you both the very best of luck for the future!
